The concertato technique in G.F. Anerio's selected motets from "Litaniae Deiparae Virginis"

The thesis by Jagoda Bemben includes two main chapters, comparative summary and transcription of two concertato pieces by Anerio, with critical commentary. The author also mentiones examples of merging classical 16th-century polyphonic principles with seconda practica and stile moderno present in Claudio Monteverdi's publication of 1610, including Missa In illo tempore and Vespro Della Beata Vergine.The second chapter coves presentation of Litaniae Deiparae Virginis, and the circumstances of publication of its second edition, which includes the three described concertato compositions. The author presents their analysis on the level of their setting, form, techniques, types of melody and word-tone relations.In the comparative summary, Anerio's work was confronted with selected compositions by G. Gabrieli and C. Monteverdi. Next, the author compares stile concertato in the output of all three composers. W rozdziale pierwszym została przedstawiona sylwetka kompozytora oraz ogólna charakterystyka jego twórczości na tle historycznym. Następnie omówiona została geneza stile concertato i rola, jaką odegrał Giovanni Gabrieli w jej skrystalizowaniu. Autorka podaje również przykład mieszania klasycznych XVI-wiecznych założeń polifonicznych z nurtem seconda practica i stile moderno w zbiorze Claudia Monteverdiego z 1610 roku, zawierającym mszę In illo tempore oraz Vespro Della Beata Vergine. Rozdział drugi zawiera opis zbioru Litaniae Deiparae Virginis oraz jego drugiego wydania, które obejmuje m.in. trzy omawiane kompozycje concertato. Autorka dokonała ich analizy na poziomie obsady, formy, doboru technik, typu melodyki i związków słowno-muzycznych.W zakończeniu twórczość Aneria została zestawiona z wybranymi kompozycjami G.Gabrielego oraz C.Monteverdiego, a następnie autorka porównuje stile concertato w twórczości wszystkich trzech kompozytorów.
